Welcome

The Southern Sandy Straits at the southern end of the Great Sandy Marine Park is a marine environment with much to offer.

Waters adjacent to World Heritage Listed Fraser Island, internationally designated RAMSAR wetlands and significant populations of Indo Pacific humpback dolphins, dugong as well as 5 marine turtle species this is a critically important marine ecosystem.

Whether you are planning to visit the area or just interested in learning more about the marine environment via our web site we hope you enjoy your stay.

We also encourage our visitors to send us any photo’s or stories of what you have seen while visiting the area so we can share them on this site. We think you will agree this is a special place and well worth caring for.
